Absolutely beautiful and rare Harvey Adams cup & saucer and including free plate (although only marked with pattern number) dating to c1875. Raised cowslip pattern handpainted in yellow and green. Gilt rims.The flowers painted around the handle which is painted to represent a stem and has a flower head attached. Famous for this type of embossed design, it is said that Adams copied species growing at the Duke of Sutherland's gardens at Trentham. Adams is also credited with the invention of the Moustache cup. Condition is good with minimal signs of wear to gilt / paintwork  on cup & saucer. Free plate has significant noticable gilt wear.Rare sets
